The 6th Bomb Group Association

The 6th Bomb Group was formed in 1984 by officers of the Army Air Corp 6th Bomb Group to annually reunite its veterans who served during the Pacific War – War Over Japan of 1944-45.

𝗕-𝟮𝟵 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟵𝟰𝟱 During the Pacific War, B-29 engines were so fraught with failure issues that a separate ground crew mechanic was assigned to each engine. Ground crews worked round the clock to maintain bomber readiness to fly every 48 hours, including engine replacement, flak and fighter damage repair.
